Jaguar xj220
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And this is to give you some idea how big this beast is! ![]() ![]() I wonder which of these designs you guys prefer... ![]() Myself, despite being a Ferrari fan, would take the Jag over 458 without hesitation ![]() Thanks Emil |

Re: Jaguar xj220
Beautiful paintwork, beautiful photography! For the XJ 220 silver is simply perfect.

Re: Jaguar xj220
Great work! Jag looks awesome, as does the Italia. For me I think id have to go for the Italia tho.

Re: Jaguar xj220
Thanks! It is a shame that it is hard to come by but it's probably due to the same reason it took me 5 years and several attempts to finally complete it haha - It is simply a horrible kit (for a tamiya). It is totally worth the effort and nerves haha

Re: Jaguar xj220
Thanks! I couldn't agree more. It looks best in silver. I remember seeing the production car as well as the prototype some years ago at a motor show. They were both silver and looked absolutely stunning

Re: Jaguar xj220
Thanks! I was actually surprised with the way the pictures came out myself. I spontaneously took them with my phone on the roof of my car in front of my friend's gundam shop after I brought the model to show him haha. Perhaps it's the beautiful silhouette of the xj220 that makes it look good no matter what

Re: Jaguar xj220
I'm still working on mine. I don't think it's a horrible kit but it requires some work to get it looking correct. Puttying the side panels and such. But the engine has a ton of space for scratch building. In terms of detail I think it is a pretty good Tamiya kit for its time period.

Re: Jaguar xj220
Don't get me wrong - it certainly is the best kit of this car available. Like you said, it has good level of detail (like all Tamiya kits) and I enjoyed detailing the engine bay etc. but for a Tamiya kit it has some fitment issues which can possibly discourage people from building it.
P.S. Make sure to test fit the glass parts before painting the body. Another challenge will be installing the body as it will probably required plenty of strong glue. Personally, if I was to build it again, I would probably intall some type of pins, hooks or other method of installing the body to make final assembly easier. Good luck with your build
