i new here and i need help on chrome parts
i have some older models on in my room and the chrome bumpers on them are fading and how man i fix that and some of my rims are like that to. how do u guys protect your guy chrome parts on you cars. thanks guys cause im trying to save my old models that i have.

Welcome abord. Another local 808 peep.
I never heard of the chrome fading. The only thing I can think of is to strip off the old chrome, then recoat it with some Alclad II. Then your bumper should look good as new. |

oh.. but that means i have to take it off the car and as for thw rims i have to do the same. can i but those chrome paint and spray it on a plasti plate and use a brush like for parts like rims and small kind parts that i donot want to take off or i have to take it off for the chrome to work.

Just so it won't end up off topic, I've never heard of chrome fading but to fix it you can use Alclad paint or find a place to send them to for rechroming. I wasn't really whining, it's just hard to understand what people are trying to say sometimes without punctuation. Add a period at the end of the sentences at least, the other stuff could matter less as long as you can understand it.

thanks and maybe i can fix that, but the chrome comes off and i can see the plastic color and i want to fix that but i dont want to take it off and paint it so can i just brush it on. i'll try to post pics.

Heres a pic but its not a good one, but if u look at it theres no chrome on it, it just has the plastic color.

Did you get glue on your finger by mistake and rubbed the bumper 'cause thats what that looks like. Anyway welcome!

ah no i dont think so cause its smooth and theres no glue on it, but i dont if i should paint it again, not sure yet.

Are your cars left in the sun? Maybe that's why they fade.
Is any of your chrome parts "corroding?" I have some old models with dust particles that seem to eat the chrome. Also cars with decals on the chrome bumpers, underneath the excess decal it's no longer chrome and is the color that the car was molded in, marina blue.
