Question 2005 Cavalier seat belt retractor stuck

2005 cavalier 4 door, the seal belt is locked in the retracted position and wont move. Been gradually getting worse and now it seems to be stuck. Took the molding off and tried spraying cleaner in it. Didn't seem to help. Watched some videos on you tube on how to unstick but I'm not having any luck. Could use some advice is there a release in it or does it have to be replaced entirely.

Re: 2005 Cavalier seat belt retractor stuck

I've seen coins and other crap caught in the seat belt that cause them to stick. Usually though, the retractor needs replacing.

Thank you gmtech for your quick reply.. I've been thinking that. I'll try a junk yard and see if I can get one.
