Has anyone put Monterey roll restrictor on Windstar?
Like the Taurus 3.8L the Windstar 3.8L uses three mounts at the bottom of the engine and transmission but nothing at the top which results in excessive fore-aft engine motion and motor mount deterioration. My wife's 2003 V6 Camry has a fourth mount at the top of the engine which greatly reduces this fore-aft motion and provides a smoother engine feel at idle.
The Mercury Monterey 4.2L engine has a similar top mount called a roll restrictor. Both engines come from the Canadian Essex family although the 2002 3.8L has a different top end layout from the 4.2L. In spite of this difference has anyone adapted the Monterey 4.2L roll restrictor to the Windstar 3.8L engine?
