Exclamation 99 Suburban won't start.

Jesus, first the A/C, now this!

So, my wife drove my truck about 12 miles out of town and, when she made it back home, parked it and turned it off. But, when she came back out to go somewhere else, it wouldn't crank.

Just a click.

All lights and controls work but, just in case, took the battery to get it tested. It was fine.

Just got a new starter a couple of months ago and replaced the cable that goes from the battery to the starter.

Now, when I try it, the battery gets hot, but my truck STILL doesn't crank, just a click and a buzz.

Jesus! How could the starter go bad that fast?

Stuff happens and Jesus has nothing to do with it!

Re: 99 Suburban won't start.

Thanks, smart guy. And, Jesus does have A LOT to do with it. He has helped me keep a hold of my tongue, dealing with this truck.

Something has to be wrong, for me to be out another starter, so I don't think that 'stuff happens' applies in this case.

you must not have much experience with auto parts made or re-built today. much of these parts do fail shortly which is why I try very hard to get a warranty when spending like over $100 for the part.. also just to warn you the stores use disappearing ink on the receipt so I make a copy of the receipt and put in a plastic sealed bag. I have saved a lot for myself and family members ..one vehicle I owned had 380K miles before I sold it I put on 7 exhaust systems for no cost all warranty .. the reason 7 was they used rusting steel in those days . so I saved about a grand over the 17 yrs 1983-2000.

bring the starter back have them check it , they should replace it since it is so new.
pray a few hours before you go to the store ..

if you have money problems I would not recommend a 1999 suburban vehicle to get around , too expensive to operate gas guzzler IMO..
