Going ZC

well guys, i spun a rod bearing, i was just gonna rebuild the a6 but it damaged the crank, so with as much money as it would take to fix the crank, do the bearings, gaskets, pistons and rings, its just not worth it to me... the zc is cheaper in the long run so it looks like i'll be ordering one tommorrow! i don't know weither to be happy or sad, i'm gonna miss the ol' a6 just hope the zc is as fast as my a6 was, i have a feeling they will be pretty close...

maybe closer to 10 more horse power if that... my cam gave one helluva boost, and no it cheaper from nippon anyway... and your link was dead for evans you through in an extra "s" at the end of specialist and they are way over priced the zc engine alone is 700 before shipping i'll be getting mine for 740 shipped...

... but yeah i think a change will be good, gonna have to get a teg ecu now hmm...

How does the sohc zc compare with the dohc zc. When I bought my car a couple of months ago (1990 civic dx hatch) it came with an extra engine which is stored at a buddies house. I was told that it was the same engine as what was in the car (d15) but I checked the stamp and low and behold it's a SOHC ZC. Is it worth putting in or is it worth shit compared to other engines that are swapable?

I got my Zc for like $800 shipped, but that was like 2 1/2 years ago, before anyone really had one. Well around here anyways. How much are they going for nowadays? Im talking of course from Japan, not some smoked motor from dude down the street. hehehe.

I'd say go for it man. Drop that bitch in and spend the extra money on something else. B series are nice, but not necessary. I love my Zc, and cant wait to get it back. Plus once I have that t25 sitting on it, it wont matter if it has vtec or not.

the SOHC ZC is the exact same thing as the D16A6. You can get DOHC ZC long blocks from hmotorsonline.com for $525, so probably around $750 or so with shipping.

DOHC ZC is a nice engine. a friend of mine has one in his CRX, it hauls ass.
