Tranny Fluid and Power Steering change...

Can someone please guide me on this... because i don't want to do it if it's too difficult... ... how would i change the transmission fluid on a 95 nissan 240sx it's a 5 spd... and how would u change the power steering fluid... my car needs some summer maintenence thankssssssss pplz

i just got both of mine flush yesterday. $70 by mechanic.

Changing the tranny fluid is EASY




Just jack it up enough so you can get under the car,

Remove the plug with a ratchet,

let it drain into a pan or something,

once it's all out screw the plug back in,

get in the car and remove the shifter boots,

remove the shifter,

then pour the tranny fluid through hole where the shifter was,

Now reinstall the shifter and then boots,

And then your done!

where's the plug ur supposed to unscrew? i've looked around my tranny before and i couldnt' find it... ...and do you know how to change the power steering fluid?

It should be under the the tranny.Its prolly covered in gunk...It's a semi big plug with a square in the middle(like a socket) thats why i said you need a ratchet or a breaker bar to unscrew it.Trust me,it's there.

On my SOHC tranny its near the middle.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh thanks i kno where that is i was wondering what it was for... so how do i take it off? where can i get the part for that?... ... thanks for ur help

You can get them at Sears,Wal-Mart,pawn shop etc. etc..

Which ever you want to use/have would work.
I cant remember what size drive fits the plug..It's either gonna be 3/8in or 1/2in.

Sorry I've never changed my PS fluid.I can't help you with that.
I do need to change my PS lines though..they leak a little..

as for power steering fluid, there should be a tank in the engine bay that's clearly labelled "power steering". take a look. sometimes the writing is moulded into the plastic, so it's harder to see, but it should be there. easier to change then your oil.
