Starter replacement 86 ninety eight

I need to replace the starter but the exhaust manifold is in the way is there an easy way to remove the starter without removing the exhaust manifold

I'm with Tech II on this. I don't remember having a problem with the exhaust manifold.

I've done it both ways- much easier with exhaust manifold off- exhaust manifold is not hard to remove- split it at connection above bell housing.

Only problem is, I can almost guarantee you will break the studs on the joint....lot of extra work....not necessary....
