Aoshima Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

As this is my favorite car in Forza 4, I was overjoyed when I heard Aoshima would be making this, and even more so when my local hobby shop (who's the official Aoshima dealer in the Philippines) announced that they already had this in stock on the 16th, the next day i went there to get it.

This will also be my 2nd OOB entry for the 2nd aoshima cup (sponsored by JMN), with the 1st OOB entry being my r35 GT-R Spec V.

The kit has both the gray and clear body parts, 2 brake sets, 2 clear side glass variants, 2 grille variants (side intakes and front intakes), 2 steering wheels and 2 rim sets.

i'm so excited! just a few more meters to go and i'll be entering my happy place!

going home with this beauty

um...what happened here? one of the window sets had what looked like scrap plastic molded onto it. fortunately, JMN agreed to just replace this whole runner once the other stocks of the sesto elemento arrive in the next few days (turns out, i had gotten their 1st kit here)

Re: Aoshima Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

Started with painting - chassis in acrylic flat black, then the red parts with acrylic red, silver parts in acrylic silver, then the gray is an acrylic epoxy mix of metallic black, gray and flat clear.

Engine and parts of the rear suspension so far

This thing is stumping me. the illustration in the manual is different from what it actually looks, and i've tried attaching it multiple ways but no-go. Might just leave this out.

Dashboard done

Eventually, engine bay almost done. when i applied the white lambo decals ontop of the intake body, i realized that the intake tract should be painted black. i must've overlooked that earlier.

Finally, done with the cockpit and engine bay.

Re: Aoshima Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

Browsed to the last page of the manual and SURPRISE (well not actually, it's been discussed here but still, heheh), the huayra coming soon.

Started with applying the red decal trim to the rear cowl. It was too fluorescent to my taste, so after i apply all of them, i'm applying a couple of layers of enamel red before i do the flat acrylic topcoat.

Decals done. The right side smaller decals have just been applied, while the left side smaller decals have had decal softener applied to them already. Rim centers have also had the lambo decal on.

Main body painted.

Window masks on. Will paint this later when the sun's out.

Re: Aoshima Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

Cowl decals painted over with enamel flat white (it was what's available)

After a coat of acrylic red

Last look at the engine bay...

...as I'll be gluing the rear cowl to the body. It keeps on wanting to pop off. And attaching the body took quite some time as the rear crossmember supports on the deck wouldn't easily mate with the underside of the body.

Re: Aoshima Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

Great so far! I was planning the same paint tactic. I am not at all a fan of doing CF decals lol. It looks very suitable.

Re: Aoshima Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

Thanks! I was planning on doing cf for this but since this is a rush build, I just went with the dark flat metallic gray. Maybe when I do another sesto

with everything attached, but the mirrors were removed. i noticed that some flat topcoat had gone rough on some spots, so i had to repaint the mirrors. full gallery of the completed kit to be put up in the completed projects section
