Compatible CV drivelines windstar 2000

Drive shaft for windstar 2000 has been discontinued. I want to know which other models CV drive shafts are compatible with windstar 2000. One workshop man told me 2001- 03 are compatible with 2000 windstar drive shafts.

The driver's side are the same. If it's the passenger side, the "AX4S" (older transmission) has a slightly longer axle shaft than the "AX4N", so those would be different. Look on the bottom of the transmission pan and see which you have.

Is your axle making any clicking noise or did you just notice the boot leaking grease? If it's JUST a grease leak, I'd have a machine shop re-boot it instead of replacing it. The aftermarket Cardone unit I tried was significantly lighter weight than the OEM, and I just wasn't confident in using it. The OEM CV axle is much "beefier" and more stout. An old OEM unit is a LOT more durable than a new aftermarket, at least in my experience.

Having said that, just for reference, on my 2002 Camry I installed a "GSP" brand CV axle from Advance Auto (marked as "Tough One" or Carquest on the box), and that one is very comparable to the OEM unit I replaced. So, you may consider giving one of those a try. Just something to consider.

Can the older shaft of 2000 windstar be fitted in the cv joints of 2001-03?

Sorry! Scubacat I meant, if it was possible to swap the movable ends of left shaft to the old central metal rod of the right side. Secondly, what is your recommendation of Cardone new axle shaft as these are available. Thanyou

The outer joint splines are not the same as the internal. On the driver's side it's actually a "female" style adapter and on the passenger side it has the C-clip. If you're swapping OUTER left to OUTER right, that would probably work.

Hi! anyone has experience of using the CV half shaft from BuyAutoParts? Secondly I checked Amazon, some manufacturers provide the shaft with male type inner end spline having a step before the teeth. What is the actual shape of the Rt. shaft for windstar 2000?

Left Axle (driver side) for 1999 to 2003 is same according to most seller on eBay. But some sellers (Part No. 1F2Z3B437AA F58Z3B414C) include only 2001 to 2003 in their compatibility list. Are there some 2000 models which are not compatible? The part No. according to Ford Part website is compatible with the 2000 Windstar

The left axle is the same for 99-03. The right one is different depend on 99-00 or 01-03. If you are buying the left, it does not matter. I don't know why sellers list it that way.

What is difference between the Part No. 1F2Z3B437AA and XF2Z3B437AB driver side axle shaft
A). XF2Z3B437AB fits 99 to 03
B). 1F2Z3B437AA firs 01 to 03
C). A Cardone make part no 66-2091 replaces both.
Then why 1F2Z3B437AA will not fit to 00 windstar?
Which CV Boots are good brand? What about Dorman?

Hi everyone!
If anyone knows, outer head of CV Joint plus the shaft (no inner joint) for Windstar 1995, Part No. F58Z-3B437-B (Below are links to check pictures also uploaded) will fit to Windstar 2000 by using the inner CV Joint from the older one. Whereas some manufacturers(AM autos) recommend their left CV Joint Assembly for Windstar 1995 to 2004 and, also Freestar up till 2007. Thanks

ADDED: At last I bought a used one from ebay 2003, 11000 miles according to the seller It is running good, no voice and no wibration.
