i just smeard some Elmers glue on it, and painted it brown..

good effect! but... IMO you should apply some washes to get different brown tones, maybe you've done it and due to the photo we cannot appreciate it
but if not.... try it

Awesome effect, maybe try flicking a bit of the Elmers with an old toothbrush so you get a little more varied texture ( maybe its there and I can't see it in the pic )

Looks abit thick in places to me, but maybe a few washes with a different shade of clay would look cool.
You should re-do the front window so that it looks like the wipers have been working
