305 Small block motor compatibility?

I have an '84 Chevrolet half ton pickup that I wrecked awhile back. I've been looking for another pickup to dump my motor into and was wondering what years the 305 small block was compatible with. I have the transmission that it is currently bolted to if transmission compatibility is an issue.

Thanks for any reply you may give (Don't get any idea's).

Re: 305 Small block motor compatibility?

You can put a 305 into pretty much anything that a small block went into - even a '55 Vette if you wanted ...

Just remember though, the 305 in its factory configurations was a smog motor - there are better choices out there but if you already have the engine ...
