Help me identify this part pleasssse.

Hey there. I drive a 1987 Subaru gl. I'm attempting to replace this part but I'm not sure what it is. It's located on the bottom center of the second picture just in front of the passenger side. It is spewing radiator fluid out of it so Im sure it has something to do with the cooling system. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi there,

This part is a vacuum valve.
On the top you can see a small hose, this is the vacuum side.
Can't see the other side so don't know where this is attached to.

Could be a valve for opening the thermostat.???
Or something else maybe.

good luck

modellmaker.

I don't think its supposed to have fluid inside of it. Looks to me like its some kind of diaphragm with a hose for air. I think it has to do with sensing the air pressure.

This is vacuum valve related parts.
A vacuum delay valve is a valve with a small orifice, which delays a vacuum signal. These are commonly used in automobiles to alter the behavior of vacuum switches, vacuum motors, other vacuum devices and with the cooling system.
