Post Code 31

The code 31 shows up in my book as a canaster purge solenoid failure.
The only problem is that this code also only shows up for Chrysler Cars on vehicles with special California emissions controls.

There for I am from Ohio and the codes dont work for me.
Best bet for you is to get ahold of one of your local Chrysler dealerships and see what they tell you..

Re: code 31

Yeah, Code 31 is your canister purge solenoid. It gives a code if the voltage is off due to a faulty solenoid valve, or electrical connection or an air leak from the hoses. It's a pain to deal with because my car is passing the emissions with flying colors except for the OBDII Code 31 complaint.

I would check all of your hoses and check your connections, especially if you have idle problems as you described.
