My integra GSR (first car) is completely stock ... i dont know much about what performance companies are good and whats bad so first off i just ordered AEM's newest air induction system ... the V2 .. anyone know is that is worth the $240 i dropped on it ?like if AEM's old cold air intake is better....? next question ... i am getting exhaust pretty soon, i have looked at all the highly rated companies like Greddy,skunk2 and DC Sport ..... dont know who i should go with ....so many companies ... i was thinking about getting DC's twin canister exhaust , anyone know if that has good sound /power gains ? i am going to drop my car about 1-2 inches and i am most likely going to use Skunk2's adjustable coilovers . are those worth $240 ? and will they completely mess up the ride of my car ? for example my friend dropped his car about 2 1/2 inches on cheap coilovers and if he goes over even the slightest bumb it feels like running over a log ...or something... thanks for everyones help

If you want the ride to remain at least slightly enjoyable and smooth, than dont drop it at all
![]() Hehe, maybe im just bitter because there is no way I can drop mine. Speaking of, is there any way? I live on a steeeeep ass driveway, and my Dad's porsche can barely make it, and I barely make do without scraping. I'm praying I can at least get a body kit. How much are those airbag things where I can just push a button and raise my car, and then lower it when im up the driveway/speed bump?

as far as intakes go, i have an AEM cold air and i love it. no, i'm not downing anyother company's intake, but from my personal experience, i've had good results and no problems with the AEM.
the same goes for my exhaust. i've got a GReddy Evolution and i think it's great. i love the deep sound and overall tone quality. i'm not sure about the DC TCS exhaust, but i know that their regular exhaust system is pretty quiet, but i've heard and read that it is excellent quality, it being stainless steel and all. when it comes to lowering, i don't think you should go anymore than 2" anything more than that and your ride quality will be very harsh. also be sure to get some good shocks to handle the drop you want. koni, tokico, and bilstein are good. i've got bilsteins w/h&r sports and i love the ride and the look it provides. be sure to also get a camber kit, esp. if you wanna go 2" Quote:

aem intakes aren't really that much better than any real cold air intake. the v2 is nothing more than a marketing scheme. if you have $$ to throw around and you like spouting off mods in a parking lot then aem is your bet but if you're like me you don't care as long as it produces hp.
as far as exhaust if you can get a cat-back or axle-back for less than a muffler from a big name co. then go with that. I have friends that have put on no name mufflers with mandrel bent pipe and had better results than greddy or the like. cheap coilovers suck. make sure you don't skimp on getting good springs and better shocks. you will regret it if you don't get the shocks. (ask me how I know) airbags could vary between $1400-$4k. it completely depends on the shop and the quality of the parts. I think they make setups that are prefitted for dc2's that are pretty cheap if you install them yourself. |
