Wierd Civic In Town :s

When i walked my girlfriend home the other nightat about 11 PM, as i approached my house on the way back i noticed a white 4th gen on the opposite side of the road,

me being me i went over and took a closer look at it, it was a 1990, white with black bumpers (looked like a DX model), but it had a JDM front end with JDM bumper IN BLACK , this car was bone stock so it had not been messed about with, and on the back it had a "ZBL" or "ZEL" sticker, the sticker looked stock but had rubbed off a bit, it must have been an import as the license plate recess's were smaller than on the UK spec civics, has anyone ever heard of this model or knows wot model it might be ?

It's a JDM spec '23L' its just a 1.3 single carb, the base model 4g Civic hatch in Japan..

Tons. All ran 16 valve motors, but came in different varients of single carb, twin-carb, Fi, 1500, 1600, 1300, SOHC, DOHC and VTEC. Thats without even going into the exterior and interior options (plus AWD). 23L ran the standard bonnet as I recollect, while the XT25 ran the SiR bonnet. Both had JDM bumpers.

All crx's and civic hatches after September 89 had the facelift also referred to as the "SiR front"
the standard front in Japan (like the US models) was only September 87 - september 89 on ALL models.

Sedans also got a facelift in septeber 89, different bonnet, fenders, bumpers and single piece headlights, all specific to the sedan
