My first restoration!

Just a simple question. I'm going to restore my 1971 Pontiac Lemans Sport. Where should the project begin and end? Should I start with replacing Technical parts? Example. Engine and things or should I start with cosmetics?

Re: My first restoration!

My vote is engine. I'd much rather have a less than perfect looking car that runs like a dream, than an immaculate looking car that runs like sh*t. Plus if you do the engine first, you won't have to worry as much about dents and dings in the process of dropping it in.

I'd start by making sure the floors and frame are solid before proceeding.

When I started my 1st project I went thru the brakes first, then made sure it was roadworthy (Ish), and then the motor... I've been working on everything else since then. But to me, I wanted a project I could drive while I worked on it.
