1/24 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 - Monte '85

Now this time it's the 1985 Monte Carlo version, the #2 winning car, again piloted by Vatanan/Harryman. It is exactly the version from Tamiya's glorious box art.

I will build this kit mainly like Tamiya intended and will just beef it up a bit with mudflaps and a lightpod for the night stages.

Here we can already see it together with my Corse '84 build in the background.

I intend to do less fast-forwarding in the future, I promise
This is actually how far I got with the project before registering on this forum, so first of all, we had to catch up a little.

The lamp pod is from Renaissance and as a novice, I find it quite difficult to get it right. However, I am still optimistic that it will look OK when it's finished.

I actually decided to wrap the rear wheel arches in tinfoil, as it appears to me that Peugeot did something similar:

I've become a bit lazy on the inner side of those arches as this won't be a highly visible area when the model is finished.

Mudflaps are from a 405 T16 Grand Raid - I sourced a Tamiya B sprue for donor parts, mainly for it's Evo 2 engine that I will need in a future project.

Those mudflaps needed little modification.

Re: 1/24 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 - Monte '85

This project is currently stalled a bit - as the shell is waiting for clear coating and I have no indoor facilities for spray painting. It's just too cold outside for the moment. Can't wait to get this one finished.

Re: 1/24 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 - Monte '85

A little progress here and there.

I drilled the steering wheel, looks a bit bold now, but better than with the holes just painted in black...

Did some touch-up at the rear wheel arches again:

Prepared the front and rear windsreens. It makes a huge difference if you remove the excess transparent film at the rear window, I think.

Every single part of the car is finished by now, just waiting for the shell to be clearcoated. After that, it just needs final assembling.
