BRAKE light in dash blinking in sequence... WTF

I have an 89 Chevy Astro Van. No anti-lock. The dash light has been SOLID RED oand on for like months since I had brake work done on the right rear. THey replaced a brake piston and plungers for the drum (non disk rear). I thought that there was some dirt cloging one of the sensors inn the master cylinder ( as this had happened before) and I was NOT paying 89.95 for a BG Brake Service flush. SO ! the truck was fine for inspection, and no fluids appear to be leaking, and all the brake parts are dry.

I checked the manual, nothing there about codes.

It blinks 6 times for a second each blink, then is steady for 2 seconds for the 7th blink.

Any ideas?

I don't think the level is low in the Master Cyl.
(ill check tomorr ) its dark outside and there are wolves that want to eat me .
thanx.

After a brake line bleed- there is a "reset light" procedure outlined in the service manual- very simple to do- I do not have my manual in front of me- will try to find it and post-- I had a guy with the same problem come to me about 3 yrs ago- and I was able to reset his light.

Hmmm. I didn't run into this problem when I did the brakes on my '89, and mine does have rear abs. My manual lists no codes for brakes at all. The first thing that comes to mind is that perhaps the parking brake needs adjusting.

I have had the same problem, 5 short and 1 long. I have not work on my brakes. I did unhook my battery and hooked it back up, and the light is now out. I would like to know what it means.
