I purchased a 2004 3.3 engine..Chrysler town and country. I have no idea what size serpentine belt to purchase. I called a Chrysler dealer parts, he had no idea. All i know is it's 6 ribs wide, I do not have any idea how long? Does anyone have an idea? thank you..Brev1234

Re: serpentine belt/ac compressor removed

If you have the old one, it's size is stamped on it. Take that with you to auto parts store.

Jesus, what kind of parts person works at that dealership? You give then year, model, make, and vin. They give you part # and cost. You freak out at the cost, and go to the parts store.

Parts store does the same, charges less, and you put the belt on....the drive away happy into the sun.

Re: serpentine belt/ac compressor removed

IMO the original poster wants to bypass the a/c compressor with a shorter belt- his title says a/c compressor is removed.

Re: serpentine belt/ac compressor removed

Yes I can read. I looked at parts listings and from what I can find this van comes A/C equipped only. The compressor is above the water pump and the back side of the belt turns the water pump.

Re: serpentine belt/ac compressor removed

To bypass the AC compressor you need a 79.0" pitch length belt. You can leave the AC compressor in place and the shorter belt will just clear the pully.

Belts that should work:
Duralast 790K6
Gates K060790
Dayco 5060790
Napa 25060790
Goodyear 4060790

And a drawing of the bypass belt routing:

You can also get a Dorman AC bypass pulley part # 34241 to replace the compressor and use the standard belt.
