Thinking Of Buying A Tacoma...What Should I Look For?

I am thinking of buying a used Tacoma, probably between an 06-14. Just curious if there are any common problem areas that I should look for? Also on another note, I am curious what real world fuel mileage I can expect?

Re: Thinking Of Buying A Tacoma...What Should I Look For?

Me personally I think they're an excellent truck. My step dad has had one for years and we take it everywhere. Very reliable. Fuel mileage is...ehh. probably 18 to 24 mpg and also a problem that does it occur is the u-joints. We had to replace them I believe 3 times and the truck has 167k on it. It's an 03. But other than that their a really good vehicle

My 07 only had three issues. A clamp on an exhaust shield rusted away. The EGR valve went bad. The rear leaf springs went flat or cracked. The springs are now under warranty. Avoid trucks with heavily rusted frames.
