keeping engine at 2000rpm
A lot of tests including the charging system voltage drop test say that you need to keep the engine at 2000rpm during the test. If you dont have another person to keep it at 2000 while you do the test with your dmm, is there another way to keep it there? Is it maybe not even that important for it to be at 2000?

On older vehicles you can simply pull the cable in the engine bay.
It has always been my question how to do it with drive-by-wire system. May be a brick on the accelerator pedal... Sam

Buy a throttle pedal tool at a better auto parts store. Mounts on the pedal and can be dialed in for engine speed. These have been around so long I can't even remember what I paid for it. (inexpensive). They are "twitchy" on fly by wire cars but they work.
