My 2002 Taurus has developed a slight vibration but loud groanning sound in what I think is coming from the right or left front side. It gets louder at around 40 - 60 MPH and its hard to pin point. it actually feels like it's coming from the middle of the vehicle and sounds/feels a lot like a clothes washer machine going on the spin cycle.
as I turn the steering wheel slightly to the right and listening for a change of the tone of the noise is go away. what this could be ? bearing ? CV joint ? Please help me out. Thanks |

Re: Groanning sound
Have you checked the level and condition of the power steering fluid? I would expect a low level to cause the groaning sound when turning the steering wheel though, not to go away.
