transmission problem

I have a 2000 Chevy 4X4 silverado with 5.3 motor. I bought a rebuild kit for the transmission and rebuilt it. It would not take all of the transmission fluid that it called for and dipstick said full. I took it back out and put in a new pump and torque converter. Still the same thing. Will not move and did not take all the fluid and it splashed out of the hole while we were putting it in. Also, the shift light indicator lights up at park reversed and nuetral and then goes off. Any help would be great. Very frustrated!

not that anyone can help you with this since you did the work , so only you have the knowledge of why this is screwed up. so before you did the work on it , what was the problem? when you took it apart what was worn/damaged ? whats up with the dash indicator for tranny ? explain better..
