air filter hose

I bought this injen air filter for my accord and it came by itself with a clamp but no metal hose. the clamp isn't big enough to fit over the stock rubber hose but the filter fits real tight on the inside of the hose, i was gonna maybe cut some pvc pipe to put in the filter and get a bigger clamp to clamp the rubber hose down tighter but i was also wondering where i should go to get the metal hose i need with the places for the sensors that go in the hose and everything cause injen said they don't even sell the hose for it. Do you think its just supposed to fit in the hose and the clamp wasn't necessarily supposed to be used?

Re: air filter hose

I'd honestly send the Injen Intake back. They are notorious for showing a picture of one intake, and sending you something that doesn't even have the metal tube, which is why most people buy intakes anyway.

Way back in the day they started marketing an "intake kit" for non turbo Stealth's/3000GT's. The intake was literally just one silicone elbow and a straight piece of metal tube. You had to use an ugly part of the stock intake to hook to the mass air flow sensor, then you used a crappy plastic adapter to put a cone filter on. They sold this gem of an intake the great price of $170.

I found a picture showing how ugly it looked

On top of the gaudy price for what you got, they claimed something like a 50 hp increase on a SOHC 3000GT. A rep actually signed up on the forum I was on and tried to convince people how great the product was. We asked for a dyno sheet and the one he provided showed a car with a 7000rpm redline. Immediate BS was called because the SOHC only has a 6000 redline. He tried to say that the car will go higher than the tach indicates and all this other crap, but we basically ran him off the board because no one believed him.

Oh and the pic below is an eBay intake that can usually be had for around $50 and it does the exact same thing as the Injen "intake" and looks 20 times better while doing it while being $120 cheaper.
