Battery hold down

does anyone have any suggestions for how to know when to stop tightening a battery hold down? like 3 extra turns on each side after it feels snug or something? i think the reason my battery is loosing volts might be because i tightened it down real hard damaging it maybe.

Re: Battery hold down

You need them snug just to the point where if you try to wiggle the battery it doesn't move. Anything beyond that is at the very least unnecessary, and possibly capable of causing damage to the battery and the hold down.
