exhaust and more

I was wondering that if you had a performance exhaust N/A would a downpipe and header make it louder? deeper? or change the sound in any way?
what about removing the cat? I figure that would make it louder but may not be good for a N/A car because of the lose in back pressure resulting in less power

also where can I find heatshields for S13, one for the intake mainly is what I'm looking for

I found this exhaust www.rs-r.com/exmag_gt2.htm and it has 80 mm piping for 89-94 240sx, is that too big for a N/A would I need more like a 60mm for a N/A?

yea, you need 60 or 65 mm for n/a, 80mm is for turbo

header makes your car sound a lil more like a honda, and a lil louder

there is some loss of backpressure with no cat, and loss of torqe. your best bet is to get a high flow catalytic convertor. the apexi n1 catback creates backpressure itself due to the dual piping... that's good for n/a

your best bet for the heatshield would be to call your local nissan dealer.

Adding a header to the KA does not make it sound "more like a honda" Quite the opposite in my experience...

I even drove mine open header during my exhaust install. I had to drive to the autoparts store, after I installed the header, but before i replaced the remainder of the exhaust...

It makes the exhaust note deeper due to the larger than stock piping the exhuast gases are now reverberating through.

I think somethings wrong with your ride mark I think our 2.4L sounds alot more like a real car then em lil 1.8L :gay fart cans. Angry bees i tell ya!! I think you were too use to your welded on tip exhause b4. Im sure it was fwkin REAL!! loud. so with your N1 duels in now it sounds alil weaker. But now with a real Exhause its supose to sound the way it is. Put mine, or Dayna's car even up next to alil fart can honda and well blow them away!! Super loud does not mean super mean!!
