I really don't want to spend the money on new wheels and tires but this shaking is driving me nuts and the tread is pretty much shot on the Toyo's at 25,000 so I have to do something. Any advice? Don't go to stock wheels, my 2001 has always had the same problem. I fought with Hyundai about it, they replaced the rims, but it only helped some. I think the 2001 has no stabilizer bars in front, and if the tires aren't balanced perfect, it be vibratin'. You could try replacing tie rod ends, that helps. Hyundai Regional rep in western states finally told me 'the car is performing as designed, and it's just a characteristic of the car.' Nice answer. I'd be glad to join up with others to get some kind of restitution for 2001 vibration problems.
