Removing Audio/Nav system

I bought a 2006 towncar, signature series, and have found that the CD Changer, located in the dash, will not accept CD's, will not eject any CD's, and will not play any CD's. I cannot even force a cd into the opening. Someone has told me that I need to remove the system from the dash and unplug it, plug it back in and it will start working again, much like a computer. I can't figure out how it comes out as there are no holes on the sides for the hook.
Can anyone help me on this?

You have to remove the trim surrounding the Head Unit to access the screws that hold it in place. You will also have to remove the Clock as well once the trim piece is removed. I did this recently in my 2004. I started in the lower right corner, using a bladed screwdriver resting on a soft cloth to pop the first corner loose. Once I had a corner loose, it was easy to work my way around with just my hands until the trim piece was completely free. You will also need to disconnect the Trip Meter plugs and possibly the Adjustable Pedal Control in order to swing the trim piece out of your way. You needn't actually completely remove it to gain access to the Head Unit. Placing the Gear Selector in Neutral as I recall also aided in moving the trim section out of the way. Patience is key here - don't force anything and give yourself plenty of time. Gentle is essential - you don't want to damage any of the retaining clips that hold the trim section in place.
