Body Molding
2000 Yukon SLT. Want to repaint it and the side molding on front and bck doors needs replacing. Called GMC. $1500 for 4 plastic pieces that are not even painted! Going to junk yard not an option, those that fit will probably be cracked as well. Looking for options. Anyone know of a dealer that might have these or an option for replacing these with something else that will look ok? Thanks! Will D.

My neighbor's side molding is also bad like that.

Re: Body Molding
A local body guy is telling me that he can take these off, paint underneath and have it look as good or better w/o them on at all. Any thoughts?

Re: Body Molding
That's where I'm headed - taking them off and having them painted over. But 'll admit they saved me today when I scraped against a white pillar in a parking garage so . . . ??

Re: Body Molding
Update: side panels off now and it looks great! If someone can tell me where to post the pic so I can attach it here, I'll put it on so you can see. :-)

Upload photos to place like photobucket.com for free, then use Control C and Control V to copy and paste the link into the window here.
