AC compressor of my 01chevy blazer

I'm having problems with AC compressor of my 01chevy blazer I turn it on and
The pulley of the compressor stops spinning for a few seconds then continues to spin then it stops. What could it be anyone knows. I need help and thank you.

I take it the A/C isn't cooling? Sounds like it short cycles due to low refrigerant pressure. Otherwise known as a leak.

THAT CONDITION IS CALLED SHORT CYCLING.. this is due to a low charge. after 10 years or so this happens. they all leak refrigerant .. I would bring to ac shop have them do the servicing of this so you stay cool. replace the orifice/filter dryer/vacuum the system/add 2-3 OZ of refrigerant oil,recharge and you should be good for many more years.
