Pig Tail missing on the right front ABS wire
2000 Impala 3.8 the right front pig tail wire on the ABS /Wheel d bearing is missing and someone spliced the wires together and they fell apart. Is is possible to add a few inches of wire and solder ot together and put shrink tubing on the wires to keep out the elements. GM did a terrible job in placing those wires there . Must have been the drunks job to add that section. Seem like a tight fit and comes apart with a sharp turn .. Thanks for any input. I plan on using the same gauge but I'll solder them together with an added 3 to 4 inch length. Put heat shrink on each then a larger one on both of them to hold them together.

Re: Pig Tail missing on the right front ABS wire
That is not regular wire...it is wire made up of many strands for flexibility.....you can go to a parts store for the part.....
Check out the prices on RockAuto.... |

Re: Pig Tail missing on the right front ABS wire
So if I went to the JY and cut a section of an old wire I should be able to use it. I'll replace the Bearing at a later time Just need a quick fix to get the light off. I know one of the wires are broken I can see that As for the wires I wouldn't use a solid wire I would use something flexible and maybe reroute it so the 1/2 shaft dosen't interfere with it. Poor Design by GM on this harness . It appears that mine is clamped or somehow secured to the lower control arm.
