2006 Navigator Suspension Problem

My air ride works fine until the temp. drops below freezing. When its warm out, no problem. When its very cold the bags will not fill. I can hear the air compressor running then the "check suspension" comes on. Could there be moisture in the lines? Could the dryer be bad? I assume the dryer is to prevent moisture in the lines.

The rubber air bladder used on the air springs is less pliable when it's cold, so any leak, turns into a bigger leak the colder it gets.

Having air suspension problems when it's cold outside is a very common problem on air suspension, regardless of the make. This is more prevalent on the 2003-On Expedition & Navigator because of the poor design. When these vehicles get older, they'll not only leak at any cracks on the air bladders, but also where the air spring base seals to the strut. If the air spring base is just a .001 bigger than what it's suppose to be, it's gonna leak when it's cold. The metal part of the strut contracts at a different rate than the plastic, so again, a small leak is turned into a big leak.
