I believe that unhooking the battery causes the computer to reset, therefore, it takes a few seconds for it to regain itself. I don't know if this causes problems with any tuning that's been done (I don't have any tuning on mine for mods), but one might need to keep a downloaded version of their settings in their LS1 edit program...

I don't see there being as much of a rivalry between ford/chevy or stang/camaro as there is going between import/domestic. I would much rather see someone driving a mustand than a riced up import. At least it supports America.

canada is lovely, vancouver especially. Wish I had the stang for the ride between Seattle and Vancouver. Yes a Ford guy posting this BUT LS1 cars get their props from me.

Why are you disconnecting your battery? As BlkCamaroSS mentioned the PCM resets every time you do this. You are essentially wiping out any optimizations your PCM has "learned" about your car's engine. Following a reset, the PCM will DEFAULT to tables which may no longer apply to your car's current state (especially if you have a differencent CAM or other internal mods). If you are discconneting your battery because of an electrical short causing a drain on your battery I would have that checked out ASAP.

ok... if you unhook the batter on an 02.. it wont reset the computer... with the new OBDII sensor system, the only way to reset the computer is to hook it up to a code scanner.. and any vehicle from 1996 on has the OBDII sensor system...
