Head Unit Problems....!

I have a '96 civic LX. I bought it used and it had an old alpine head unit in it from 1998 and I removed it so i could put in the JVC Kameleon from 1999. I removed the Alpine and connected the JVC to the wires to the corresponding colors, the JVC turned on but i couldnt hear anything but the speakers popped on and off so i decieded to check the wires for a bad connection. By accident the red wire (Power) and the black wire (Ground wire) touched and I saw a spark, then my radio wouldnt even turn on. So later I checked my fuses and the radio/clock fuse was burned out, so I replaced it and my radio still didnt work.....help me out here because Im out on my last limb without any tunes in my car....please help.......

I think you should sheck the power and gorund wires to see if their not cut somewere due to the shot and also try your head unit in another car to make sure it's not your wires failling

does everything else work ? there is another fuse under the hood you should check. Also, there is normally a fuse built into the 12V line - check that out too
