I have a 2003 Tahoe , recently purchased new tires and a alignment was done . I drive maybe 20 miles daily. a month or so went by and I noticed the tires were wearing on the outer edge tread was uneven.took it back for another alignment said everything was good. I heard there might be a bushing that could be worn in the steering column. I was told shocks were ok . any leads?

tires worn on the front outer edge mean that the toe is too much or the camber is not set correctly.

never have a tire shop touch these front end alignments.

bring to a shop that has trained techs that work on these type vehicles.

I do my own alignments . my first OEM tires 90K miles. working on 2nd set 70K miles. once the front end is set no alignment is needed .. what is needed is checking at every tire rotation the wear of the steering components and the control arm bushings. then the greasing of the components with a lithium based grease. this should be done AT EVERY 12-15k miles

when the tires are worn down close to the wear indicators all tires should look the same , so much so you can not tell one from the other..
also stick on weights should be used. hammer on will fall off with aluminum wheels.. hammer on OK with steel....

if you bring your vehicle to the alignment shop and they find it is bad then the tire shop should replace the tires they messed up ..
