89 Ranger windshield wiper

89 Ranger, was in a heavy rain storm , a small limb or twig hit windshield and the passenger side wiper stopped working. Suspect linkage broke something or came off.
How do I get to this? A quick look didn't reveal any easy way to get the cowling or the sheet metal under the wipers off.
