front cv axle?

Heyas, I got a 1995 gmc k1500 needs a front axle bought one from empi was no good from the day I put it on, junk. So the questions is any suggestions on an axle replacement? I thought maybe cardone select or ac delco any ideas would be great. I really hate all this Chinese crap there selling today. the orginal axles on this truck are 20 years old and the old bad one works better than the new one I tried. Try to get one to last that long today. I don't have a ton of money so no over priced ones. Thanks in advance.
