Williams FW19 - F1 1/24 Revell

Dear all,
I show you my work relevant to 1/24 Revell kit; it's the FW19 Williams that alowed Jacques Villeneuve to became World Champion in 1997 after
a battle with Michael Schumachers' Ferrari F310B (unfortunately the last 1997 race at Jerez wasn't a good day for Ferrari supporters like me, also for the
volunteer collision generated by Schumacher to the rival; anyway that's the past)

Re: Williams FW19 - F1 1/24 Revell

The kit has not a big number of parts and they fit quite well.
The real problem are the decals that despite a huge use of softener are not easy to apply and broke easily.

The original kit replaces tobacco logos with a "question mark" used during French GP (if i remember well); honestly I don't like this livery and
I found on the web the original tobacco logos. It was very difficult because I found only a 1/20 decal sheet available for this car; for this reason the logos that I've used in this kit are a sort of mix between different decal sheet .

The sidewall of each tyre presents the "Goodyear logo" impressed on the surface (I don't know why..); I've rubbed them in order to get a polish surface for decals application

Re: Williams FW19 - F1 1/24 Revell

The quality of decals are not so good for this kit,
probably the sheet is very old.. Neither microsol /microset helped me so much.
Decals of other Revell kits that I made in the past weren't so hard to apply as these ones.

For this reason I suppose that I'll use X-22 Tamiya acrylic clear instead of TS-13 that I usually use
because is less aggressive with decals.

Bye

Nice work man. I finished that exact same kit, but I couldn't get a hold of. Rothmans decals, had to print them. Car looks good. Yours looks AWESOME.

Take Care

How do you use your clear coats with Ts-13? Light mists unless decals are fragile??
