does any 1 know if it is possible to swap a rb26dett in to a 2000 altima
just got a 2000 nissan altima. I would like to know if its possible to swap the rb26dett. I know its a six inline and if I can what tranny do I need to keep it front wheel drive and how much is the cost. I dont know if its ever been done but i would like to be the first

anything's possible if there's enough money, especially if they both come from the same family (nissan). you'd have to go to an install shop and ask them how much the damage would be, because ive never heard of that being done.

there is absolutely no reason for this to be in the 240SX forum.
a)the RB26DETT is a Skyline engine. b)an Altima is not a 240SX. moved to the appropriate forum. and keeping an RB26DETT FWD??? HAHAHA good luck...

The altima has its engine mounted like this ---- instead of like this |
I think its called longitudally and latitudally mounted or something... Not sure which is which, but I hope that helps.

no...don't even waste the money on it. best bet is to go the blue bird route. i don't know to much about those cars but try that instead...be easier on the pockets.
