Why so many Focuses and Cobalts for sale?

Hi,

I'm looking for a relatively cheap (< $8,000) used car. I've been searching on Craig's List and Auto Trader all day and have found a lot of used Ford Focuses and Chevy Cobalts for sale in my price range. They both look like a decent car but it's concerning to see so many for sale, is there something wrong with them or is this just some weird coincidence? Any advice on these cars would be much appreciated. Does anybody have a preference between the two? I'm leaning toward a 2009 Ford Focus.

Thanks

No, nothing wrong with them, they just made a lot of them and a lot of people aren't aware of what good cars they are so there's not a lot of demand for them in the used market.

I prefer the focus as well
