VW Golf mk1 Cabriolet

Here's my next project. The newest Revell Golf 1 Cabriolet modelkit. It's just released a few days ago.

I'll build this for a magazine.

The kit contains nice parts:

There's a choice between rhd or lhd dashboard. The wheels are pretty nice but I don't like them that much. I think these ATS Classic wheels from Scale Production will look good.

I will use a very nice VW color for this build. It's Dark Violet like the Fire & Ice Golf MK2.

Kris.

Re: VW Golf mk1 Cabriolet

And the engine is done. I only added sparkplugwiring. I think the original engine is nicely detailed.

And clearcoated the body. I added BMF instead of the original decals.

Re: VW Golf mk1 Cabriolet

It's a while ago, but I did a lot of work the last weeks.

First I polished the body and especially the hood. I had some dust in the paint that I want to get rid off.

I also started on the interior. First I found a set of Recaro seats from The Partsbox. I removed the molded mesh and replaced it with real mesh. After that I painted it USA Brown from Vallejo Air. I also added seatbelts on the sidepanels and added interiorflocking.

And I added BMF and a black trim on the windows.
