all of the above, heater, odometer(digital), radio, wipers and the temp gauge quit working. Thinking ignition switch so I changed and no help. Open to ideas... Maybe a ground somewhere and the location. Pictures will help alot! It is a 2001 silverado with a 4.6 and niothing special as far as the electric windows etc.. I am working on this in my garage at home on my spare time but getting frustrated with it. Thanks

Re: 2001 chev siverado heater, wipers, radio, odometer dont work and changed the ign. switch
I looked at my 2000 alldata and a ground is under the seat close to wiring connector. Another one is at the back of the motor close to top of transmission. Check for a blown fuse.

Re: 2001 chev siverado heater, wipers, radio, odometer dont work and changed the ign. switch
I have looked and tested ALL fuses. I on the other hand did find a broken black wire under the floor mat when looking at different spots. Could this be the culprit? Just a small black wire? It does have a ground block then under the driver side of the seat then right? I will check and let you know. THX...

also what engine is this V8 or the V6 ? these circuits are not common electrically , so I would think that this vehicle was messed with .. how long you owned it/any aftermarket crap on this ? on the rear of engine back of intake manifold area is a ground connection G103 make sure is solid and clean. |

For $26.95 you can get a 1 year subscription to AllData DIY. It's the same as having factory manuals.

not sure if they did it in the trucks, but in the 01 cars, there is a BCM. Body Control Module. it should be under the dash on the drivers side. it is something that only a dealer can redo. when replacing it, the dealer has to reprograms the BCM. they are a program once only module. it controls radio, heater, windows, door locks, wipers, lights, anything that is considered part of the body system.
