Aoshima Lambo 700-4 Wide Body

Hi Gents,

Please see below for photos of my latest build. It's another Lambo but this time I sculpted wide body parts using putty to change the body shape. It was a good build but a few areas need tidied up.

Thank you so much to cjsbosox for inspiration with his Ferrari wide body build.

Kit - Aoshima Lamborghini LP 700 4
Sculpting - Apoxie sculpt
Paints - Tamiya and Halfords can for body
Clear - Zero paints 2 part
Rivets - Top Studio
Decals - various and self made ones
Spolier and supports - scratchbuilt

Re: Aoshima Lambo 700-4 Wide Body

Hi,

I'm sorry to disappoint you but I don't like this build This is a fantastic car and this color is awesome but check the front and rear tires!!
They don't fit.!!
I'm sure they won't even turn.
The decal on the right front door is not readable.
I think if you use a little bit more space between the tires and body, the car would look much much better.
More realistic.

Re: Aoshima Lambo 700-4 Wide Body

It's a good effort overall. I know sculpting is not easy. If it was everyone would do it. The wheel/tire issue comes from the tires not being inside the fender. I would suggest thinning out the inner fender area and adjusting the suspension to fit the wheels. I know I had to do a lot of it with my 458. But that's because it's hard to find the right wheels, in the right size. Then there's the tire width issue. anyway, thanks for sharing. I like it

Re: Aoshima Lambo 700-4 Wide Body

Thank you gents.

Modellmaker - I take your point about the wheels. I fitted them as best I could. Regarding the rear wheels - On the 1:1 car they sit under the fender but also seem to project out a good bit at the bottom, where they actually sit on the road. I might try to adjust them. Regarding the front ones - I am pretty happy with those. Your right though, they definitely don't turn :-) The decal on the right door came like that from Hobby Design (reversed). I think LB must have it that way on the real one.

Cjsbosox - Good point about thinning out the fender area - I have thinned it out already but will do more. As you will see I also sanded a bit off the tire itself which helped but unfortunately it looks worse on the photo than if you are just looking with the human eye. In regard to the apoxie -I found it excellent to work with but difficult to imitate the real car.

Regards and thanks again,

Stewart

...Sorry to disappoint you??? Someone might be disappointed if they take these comments seriously vs at face value considering they're from someone who apparently needs to bring others down instead of rising to a higher level...

Not sure who you are modellmaker but comments like this are more counterproductive than helpful to anyone. The cream rises to the top and is illustrated via comments like this which drive people away from the hobby and away from the forums.

I say super build. Keep up the good work!!!!
Awesome color and man that things looks mean!
I got an Aventador that I need to get working on and this is very inspiring.
Awesome Job!
Andy

Hey Andy,

Thank you so much for that nice comment, I really appreciate it.

It was a lot of work to get the wide body parts finished but good fun at the same time.

Looking forward to seeing your Lambo and thank you again.

Hi Andy,

Maybe I used the wrong words!
It was not my intention to hurt Stewarty, but what I was trying to say is that the first things that you see are the wheels.(at least I was)
Those things are huge and when they don't fit it the first thing you see.
The car is fantastic, the color awesome but when you spend so much time building that car everything should be in order.

Stewarty, if I hurted you with my comment on your car, I'm very sorry.
It was not my intention giving you a bad feeling.
The car is great , color awesome, nice build.

Well done.

Okay, group hug!!! We all are good. I just hate to see such good work get overshadowed with the bad points. All models have the bad points; for us regular people anyway. It's just me, but I like the positive comments. We all try to do good work and be better. We know where we want to get better and we know where particular models have parts where we wished they were better. Even though I meant my words, accept my apologies if I was too harsh right out of the gate with my comments.
