85 f250 6.9 idi trans question
i just did a transmission conversion for some one on there 1985 ford f250 6.9 idi from a c6 auto to a 4 speed manual and now it is stuck in 2nd gear but he wants to do a 5 speed instead of having the 4speed in there, i can find transmissions for a 88 and up 6.9/7.3 zf 4x4, will a newer transmission work for it?
these are what i found : M.T., 5 speed, ZF, 4x4, 6-300 (4.9L) M.T., 5 speed, ZF, 4x4, 8-351 (5.8L) M.T., 5 speed, Mazda and Toyo Kogyo, 4x4 M.T., 5 speed, ZF, 4x4, 8-445 (7.3L, diesel) M.T., 5 speed, ZF, 4x4, 8-460 (7.5L) other than the 7.3 will any of these work?
