Rear knocking noise

I hear a rear knocking noise coming from the driver side... My mechanic thought it was because it was due to low pads on the brakes... So I got the brakes changed and the noise is still there.

The noise is most prevalent when coming to a stop when going down hill, I don't hear the noise at all while driving/crusing.

Any ideas what it could be?
