Question safe to remove?

Is it safe to remove this part of the engine? Like is there any gaskets or anything there? This isn't my vehicle but I wanted to know for my 94 chevy lumina.

Re: safe to remove?

Why do you want to remove it?

That is called the upper plenum......it has gaskets where it connects to the lower intake, throttle body, and EGR....

Re: safe to remove?

To get to the fuel pressure regulator. And Yeah I realized it has gaskets cause I can actually see the gasket. Is that good? I do Slowly lose coolant and its from a intake manifold leak I believe because It is common for my car they say.

Re: safe to remove?

Upper plenum has no coolant passages. The lower is where they leak from. Big job, not for the beginner.

If you take the upper off to replace the FPR, you MUST follow torque specs and sequence or you'll break a flange on it, then you've got trouble.
