1989 cutlass supreme 2.8 No start

The motor turn over with spark. I checked fule pressure (40 psi ) had it towed to a garage. He check it over. Called me back said it has to be electronic. The car ran when I parked it. Now it won't start. He also said no pulse to the injectors. But it's in time and good spark. Can anyone help please????

Very tough go diagnose this from here, both the ign. Module and ecu were bad in these cars. You could try tapping the ecu case firmly with a screw driver handle see what happens, the mechanic can't find the problem? All the fuses ok?

Yes the fuse's are good. I was also told that the crankshaft sensor could be bad. The mechanic said was there is no pulse to the injectors. He checked spark, compression, fule psi. Everything I already did. But his small hand computer said no pulse to injectors. And I didn't run across your suggestion. Is there anything else that would cause no pulse to injectors?

Re: 1989 cutlass supreme 2.8 No start

If the injectors are not firing, there are 3 possibilities....

Bad ECM....

Bad ICM(no ref signal from ICM to ECM), or open circuit between ICM and ECM...

Bad injector or shorted wiring harness to injector.....this is a multiport system, not sequential.....if an injector is shorted or a wire harness to one of the three injectors(1-3-5 are in parallel, and 2-4-6 are in parallel in another circuit), this will be a huge current draw...the injector driver in the ECM will see too much current flow and and shut down the injectors......see this happen a lot when mice build a nest under the uper plenum, and they eat the insulation....

Start your own thread.....give year, make model, engine...

Give exact symptoms, and any recent work done to the car....
