Porsche 914/6

I have always liked the 914. The only kit I am aware of is by Revell but it is not very detailed. So I will build it using parts from Fujimi's Enthusiast 911 kit to increase the detail.

Here is the kit I start with:

I clean up the body and attach the rear bumper.

I thought the rear splash pan was to deep so I removed some of the material.

I also added inner rear fender panels and some channel to receive the rear glass.

Re: Porsche 914/6

The windshield frame is very fragile so I don't want to attach it until later in the build. I just tape it to the body to make sure everything will line up.

I begin modifying the chassis to accept the Fujimi parts.

I also correct poor areas of the kit so the Revell parts will fit better.

Re: Porsche 914/6

The kit does not include a fire wall so I add sheet plastic to the back on the interior to simulate one.

I want to add pose-able front suspension so I need to create a tie-rod tunnel

Re: Porsche 914/6

The gearbox mounting bracket on the 911 is under the transmission. On the 914 it is on top.

Re: Porsche 914/6

Here are the wheels/tires I will be using. The turned aluminum rims are Detail Master. The Fuchs centers come from several Fujimi kits.
