motor swap

I have a 2004 Silverado half ton 4x4 with a 5.3 .how old of a truck can I swap this motor and tranny onto?

Your best bet is to check a salvage yard interchange book.
A good GM parts man may help you.
Or a place that sells rebuilt engines.
